Beekeeper Group
The Buzz Advocacy Summit is a conference hosted by our very own Beekeeper Group every year. Beekeeper Group started hosting these Summits as a chance for advocacy professionals to gather and share their experiences, collaborate, and help elevate modern public affairs. The Buzz Summit is a chance for Beekeeper Group to highlight all of its departments, including design. The Summit was first held in 2016 and, due to popular demand, has been held regularly since then. The marketing and design teams work closely together to ensure all materials for the Summit are consistent and polished.
The main goal for the design team here is to provide consistency across branding for the Buzz Advocacy Summit and create or update pieces and parts for the conference. The design team has created countless materials for the Summit that include, but are not limited to, programs, infographics, web, print, and wayfinding materials. The most important aspect of all these deliverables is the branding consistency with each year’s changing theme. Beekeeper Group works with an advisory team that helps form our goals for that year’s Buzz Advocacy Summit, and the marketing team aids in brainstorming each new theme. For example, the theme for last year (2021) was “The Future of Advocacy and Communications,” which took place in October rather than the usual summer months due to the pandemic. The design team was able to create a few Halloween-themed printed materials, which included a poster and a table centerpiece.
The idea is to provide a seamless experience for attendees from the moment they receive an invitation until they walk out of the venue. All the moving pieces and parts work together to create a consistent and driven experience. Most of what the design team works on for the Buzz Advocacy Summit is to update or create new materials each year while continuously providing a solid branding foundation. Last year’s Spooktacular invitation poster for the reception dinner tied in our typical Buzz Advocacy Summit theme with a fun Halloween flair. The Spooktacular poster was not created from scratch but based on the recurring illustration of the cityscape of Annapolis to ensure branding consistency.
With a high return rate of guests who continue to join us for the Buzz Advocacy Summit year after year, we love to keep our ideas new and fresh. The design team is constantly brainstorming creative and engaging design materials for our posters, centerpieces, and general event materials to keep this event exciting year after year!
