Center for Audit Quality

The Challenge

Making accounting hip with the youth. That was the challenge facing the Center for Audit Quality with Accounting+ (A+), its initiative designed to introduce the next generation to the possibilities of a career in accounting.

Reaching Gen Alpha and Gen Z meant overcoming a reputation the profession has carried for years: difficult, boring, mostly about numbers. The CAQ wanted to inspire younger audiences to explore accounting careers by showcasing the people, opportunities, and paths that make the profession dynamic and rewarding.

To change those perceptions, A+ needed to reach young people where they were already spending their time and show them a side of accounting they may not have seen before. That meant showing up on social media not like an organization trying to recruit them, but like a brand that understood what they cared about.

The CAQ turned to Beekeeper Group to build an organic social strategy that could do just that.

The Approach & Solution

Make accounting worth stopping the scroll. Beekeeper built A+’s organic social presence around a simple idea: meet young audiences where they are, not where we expect them to be.

Rather than treating every post as an opportunity to talk about accounting, we built a content mix around the broader interests of our audience, from money and career advice to pop culture, memes, and lifestyle content. A 60/40 content mix balanced accounting-focused education with culturally relevant content, helping A+ become part of the conversation rather than another recruiting message in the feed.

Behind the fun was a strategy grounded in three principles:

  1. Relevance
We created platform-native content inspired by the trends and cultural moments already capturing our audience’s attention.
  2. Credibility
We brought real voices into the conversation. Through initiatives like the Spotlight Series, accounting professionals shared their experiences and gave students relatable examples of what a career in the field could actually look like.
  3. Consistency
Changing perceptions doesn’t happen with one viral post. Beekeeper developed an always-on content strategy that allowed A+ to show up consistently, experiment with new ideas, learn from audience behavior, and build on what resonated. That consistency extended past A+’s own channels: a social media toolkit equipped partner organizations with ready-to-use resources and guidance to bring the A+ message to their own audiences.

The Results

As it turns out, accounting can belong on the For You Page. Across 918 organic social posts, A+ generated more than 60 million impressions, built a community of more than 56,000 followers, and earned nearly 33,000 reactions.

The impact went beyond showing up in the feed. By consistently creating content around the interests, voices, and culture of its audience, A+ built a social presence that made accounting feel more approachable and relevant to a new generation. The work demonstrated the value of an audience-first organic social strategy: even a topic young people might otherwise scroll past can become content they choose to engage with when a brand understands how to meet them where they are.
