Beekeeper Group’s Day of Purpose is an annual tradition started by our friend and colleague Hannah Levy, who passed away in 2023.
To honor her legacy, Beekeeper invites our colleagues and friends in the industry to give back to the community in whatever way they can. On August 20, Beekeeper Group volunteered at DC Central Kitchen, an organization close to Hannah Levy’s heart. Beekeeper Group staff and friends spent the afternoon helping DCCK’s full-time staff prepare for the next day’s meals, chopping tomatoes and peppers and making sandwiches for the next day’s lunch. It’s always a delight to get to know DCCK’s staff and other volunteers, and to spend some quality time with our team and friends of the Hive.
Our remote team members participate in the Day of Purpose, too. Steven visited UMOM New Day Centers in Phoenix, where the Arizona Pet Project provides pet food, supplies, and veterinary care for individuals and families with pets as they access transitional housing.
If you’d like to get involved in our annual Day of Purpose, you can sign up for our volunteer list here. Even if you’re not based in the DMV, you can stay in the loop to know when and where we are getting involved.
PS: For those that knew Hannah, you may know that her husband Andy is a musician. He is releasing an album this fall called Hannah, and some of the songs are available now on streaming platforms. He’s also created some beautiful visuals for the music on his YouTube channel. This song, dedicated to his and Hannah’s son Bobby, is one of our favorites. You can check out the video here:
