It’s time for the Hive Five, Beekeeper Group’s newsletter that keeps you up to date on what we’ve been up to this quarter. Here’s what we’ve been buzzing about lately:

Predicting the Future of Advocacy

In February, we released our most comprehensive research yet: the Future of Advocacy Report, a data-driven look at what drives successful advocacy engagement among constituents today.  The report draws on original public opinion survey research to surface insights on participation, effective tactics, and how advocates perceive the work itself. You can read the full report on our website.

Where We’ve Been This Quarter

Q1 took us across the country and to a few notable rooms. We represented the Hive at the Public Affairs Council’s Advocacy Conference in Phoenix, where Alex presented our recent advocacy research, and we shared our report (and some tarot card readings) with attendees. We also went to New York City for the 2026 PRWeek Awards, where Beekeeper Group was recognized as one of five finalists for Outstanding Public Affairs Agency — a meaningful nod as we head into our 16th year.

Showing Up for the Community

The Hive went beyond our work this quarter, supporting three meaningful causes. We were proud sponsors of United Way of the National Capital Area’s United Women event, “Pathways to Success,” connecting with DC-area high school juniors and seniors about what it means to work in public affairs and the unique career opportunities available to young women. You can check out United Way’s video about the event here. We are also sponsoring Safe Shores’ “The Power of Play” event this month, backing their work with child abuse survivors. And next week, we are partnering with Local News Day, continuing our commitment to the future of local journalism.

Spring Training at the Hive

Each year, we carve out dedicated time to invest in our team’s professional development and host a multi-day Spring Training. This year’s sessions focused on Beekeeper Group’s continued commitment to being future-focused and brought in outside speakers with expertise in research, earned media, and AI, giving our staff fresh frameworks and new skills to apply to client work. Hive Highlight: Maddie Goldstein

Meet Maddie Goldstein, Art Director on the Beekeeper Group team! Maddie is one of our newest Bees, and joined the team in March. Maddie leads the creative team to transform complex ideas into compelling visual stories. Before joining Beekeeper Group, Maddie honed her skills as a graphic designer at DC-based public affairs agencies and at Washington City Paper.

FUN FACT: Maddie’s cat Sadie has been a bee for Halloween for the past three years, so she’s very excited that Maddie is now a part of the Hive!
